Transforming Diagnostic Imaging at Macclesfield General Hospital

Facing the dual pressures of a tight implementation timescale and stringent budgetary requirements, the Radiology department at Macclesfield General Hospital successfully transitioned to the Samsung GC85 digital radiography system, supplied by MIS Healthcare. The department required a high-performance solution that could be installed quickly without compromising diagnostic quality or financial sustainability. By selecting the GC85, the team secured a versatile ceiling-suspended system renowned for its robust construction and workflow efficiency, helping maintain patient throughput during a period of infrastructure renewal.

The success of the installation was driven by close collaboration between the hospital’s clinical leadership team and MIS Healthcare. Extensive consultation ahead of the rollout ensured the system met both the department’s clinical demands and physical space constraints. The integration of the latest imaging software and hardware has future-proofed the department, while improved workflow, better use of available space and reduced manual handling have delivered immediate operational benefits.

Comprehensive training also formed a key part of the project. MIS Healthcare worked closely with Macclesfield’s radiographers to build confidence in using the system’s advanced features, ensuring staff were fully supported throughout implementation.

Reflecting on the experience, Lindsey Goswell, Radiology Education Lead added: “The team from beginning to end have been fantastic. Andy listened to our needs and worked with us at each step of the process. Daniel’s patience and communication style has meant that all our team have been well trained. All the install team have been great – communicated with us daily, kept noise and mess to a minimum and listened to any of our concerns.”
