Reducing the delay between MRI/CT examinations and the associated report is key to improving patient outcomes.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Radiology Review 2018 raised concerns about the reporting delays at a number of NHS trusts but suggested these issues were more widespread, posing a potential risk to patient outcomes. According to the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) Workforce Census 2020, these unresolved issues were further complicated by the pandemic, having created a backlog of over 200,000 patients waiting six weeks or more for MRI and CT exams.
Professor Dr Alexander Huppertz, board-certified diagnostic radiologist and founder, states “We believe that RadioReport is the ideal digital tool to effectively reduce delays in reporting as highlighted by the CQC, while at the same time increasing report quality and capacity. RadioReport is unique as it introduces the concept of digitised guided reporting: we achieved this by taking the thought processes of radiologists and converting these into an efficient reporting workflow.”
He continues, “It was also important for me to quality-assure the product and so RadioReport is the only CE-certified reporting software currently available.”
One way RadioReport accelerates reporting is through the use of interactive localization tools (lead image). Reporting staff can easily select the region of interest and quickly move on — confident that the accurate nomenclature for the selected anatomy will be included in the report.
RadioReport brings radiology reporting for all MRI and CT indications into the digital age. Radiology staff enjoy significantly reduced reporting time while generating reports of consistent quality thanks to the anatomy-driven modules, select-and-move-on working method, and standardized referenced nomenclature.
